Spiritual Disciplines Class
Sundays starting September 20 at 10:45am at GFC. For the next step in our Foundations classes, we will be going through Donald Whitney’s book, Spiritual Disciplines for the Christian Life. The theme of the entire work is based on 1 Timothy 4:7, which states, “Discipline yourself for the purpose of Godliness”. Accordingly, our objective will be to spur us toward the disciplines with the goal of Godliness and a deeper relationship with Jesus always in sight. These spiritual disciplines include Bible intake, prayer, worship, evangelism, serving, stewardship, fasting, silence and solitude. According to Whitney, the spiritual disciplines lead to holiness because the disciplines “are like channels of God’s transforming grace”. And since God commands holiness, the spiritual disciplines are a must for us to grow in Christlikeness.
Join us on the following Sunday mornings at 10:45am: September 20, October 4, 11, 18, 25 & November 1. Please sign up on our calendar app or at the sign up table in the hallway and purchase your own book.

Ashley Masten, our Director of Grace Kids, is on Sabbatical July 20-August 31. We are thankful that our Elders at GFC allow for times of renewal and refreshing for our Staff Team each five years of service. This time away helps keep our team spiritually vibrant, physically renewed and emotionally centered. Please do not contact Ashley for church related needs during this time so she can fully rest and enjoy her time away to focus on her relationship with God!
We invite you to select a day each week that you specifically pray for Ashley while she is away from our fellowship. There is a sign up sheet in the hallway you can sign if you want to sign up to pray and fast on one or multiple dates. Multiple people can sign up on the same date. If you have needs that you would typically contact Ashley regarding, please contact the church office and we will be glad to assist you.
