EQUIPPING OPPORTUNITIES

We believe what Ephesians 4 says: "to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ."

The opportunities on this page are designed to help you in your journey of faith in Jesus and to equip you to be a mature believer.

Basic Christian doctrine:

recieved and believed

What does it mean to say that God is the Creator of all? How should we understand the Trinity? Is the Bible trustworthy? What does it really mean to say that Jesus is both God and man? What happened at the cross? Is the resurrection really necessary? How does the Spirit work in our lives today? What will heaven be like?  Christians have reflected on these questions for thousands of years.

Beginning February 3rd through the spring, on Monday nights from 6:30-8pm, we will be offering a time to discuss these topics with Basic Christian Doctrine: Received and Believed. We'll use one of the earliest Christian statements—the Apostles' Creed—to frame our discussions. Clift Ward will walk us through Scripture to discuss basic Christian theology and touch on subjects we have questions about. This is meant to be a discussion, and there will be a time for Q&A each week. Make plans to join us and be equipped to think theologically about the world around us.

Childcare provided.

PERSPECTIVES

Do you feel a tug on your heart for what the Lord is doing throughout the world? Perspectives on the World Christian Movement is a Christian education course designed to help believers learn more about God's heart for all nations and how believers worldwide can play an active role in the Great Commission.

The course will be held on Tuesdays, January 14 - April 28, 2020 at First Christian Church in Johnson City from 6:00-8:30 P.M. The cost is $285 but GFC will pay significant portions of the cost for anyone who is interested.

The first night is free and gives access to the first two weeks material and videos so you can check it out in person.
