What is the Gospel?

The gospel is primarily the good news of what Jesus has done on our behalf, a salvation by grace that was accomplished for us. So in January 2024, we will

  • Consider the richness and depth of what God has done for us
  • Spend time contemplating the simplicity of the gospel in a way that we can all remember
  • Learn to keep the gospel central in our lives
  • Invite gospel renewal to first take place in our own hearts

Topics for What is the Gospel?

  • Week 1 - What is our new vision?

As we approach our 20th anniversary as a church, the elders have been praying and fasting for months to consider GFC's direction for the next 5-10 years.  We'll release our new vision and discuss our 4 essentials for moving forward.

  • Week 2 - What is the Gospel?

The gospel is primarily the good news of what Jesus has done on our behalf, a salvation by grace that was accomplished for us by the death and resurrection of our Savior. We are save by grace alone, through faith alone, in Jesus alone - not by what we do or don’t do and not by being “true” to ourselves. We'll learn a new acronym to help us to remember and more easily share the G.O.S.P.E.L.

  • Week 3 - HOW to EXPERIENCE PERSONAL GOSPEL RENEWAL?

The gospel doesn't just save us. It's what we live by day to day and it begins in the deepest core of who we are. Personal gospel renewal transforms us as we daily recognize we are more sinful than we ever dared believe and more loved and accepted than we ever dared hope.

  • Week 4 - how should we respond?

Accomplishing vision will take time, resources and grit. But as we reflect on all God has done for us, we first need to respond in humility and worship.
